Khalid Mowahid Communication Director/Spokesperson Counter Narcotics Justice Center (CNJC) today 24.6.2018 at the press conference in Government Media Information Centre (GMIC) said that During the quarter of (April –June 2018) in total 186 cases related to 230 suspects of drug trafficking detained by the police of counter narcotics from all over the country their cases are dispatched to this center for further prosecuting.

He said added that Investigation Laboratory Department studied and observed all the mentioned cases within 72 hours, and for further investigation sent all cases to the general prosecution of counter narcotics justice center. 

He emphasized that among the detainees 13 woman, 2 foreign citizen, and 9 public service staff included.

He believes that among detainees 67 of them intended to hide and transfer narcotic drugs heroin type carrying in their body (swelling) and travel luggages from Hamid Karzai International Airport to India New Delhi and Saudi Arabia eventually they were recognized and detained by the police of prosecution Counter Narcotics Justice Centre.

According to him Based on the proposal of the Prosecutor General's Office and the Primary Court order  number of 60 vehicle , 1 motorcycle ,   293 different type of  mobile set  and 8  different weapons obtained and confiscated  from smugglers ,also the amount of 237005 Afghani cash money  along with 5050 US dollars attainment from drug  traffickers and dispatched to Da Afghanistan Bank.

Communication Director/Spokesperson Counter Narcotics Justice Center continued to say during the first quarter of 1397 from Primary and Appeal Court 179 people including 1 woman in the link to 136 cases of drug trafficking crimes during the hearings sessions, they were sentenced from one year to 20 years in prison.

He added that in the past three months due to lack of enough evidence  Primary court  released 8  people  including 3 woman 1 police officer and rest are  ordinary people. 

He added also that due to lack of enough evidence Appeal court released 24 people  11 of them is government staff and 13 of the is civilian. 

Mowahid Said that during this period after the decision of the Appeals Court of Counter Narcotics Justice Center 59 cases the decision issued by the Supreme Court’s public security bureau of Islamic republic of Afghanistan.

 

Mowahid also reminded at the  news conference that Complying with the aforementioned cases the Counter Narcotics Police seized and discovered the amount of substances of solid chemical , liquid chemical  and psychotropic ( Tablet K).  And following substances are 

Heroin (856,619) kilograms

Morphine (3807.1) kilograms

Opium (6439, 84) kg

Hashish (21085, 03) kilograms

Cristal or shisha (14,778) kg

Solid Chemical Substances (47187, 013) kilograms

Alcoholic Drinks (3357, 5) liters

Psychedelic Tablet K (6159) Pills 

Acid (655) Liter.

According to his believe Within first quarter of year  1397 kabul province having 91 cases of intoxicating drugs crimes and Nangarhar Province having 33 cases of intoxicating drugs crimes  are  top of the list of provinces with high-level cases of smuggling and drug trafficking on the other hand Logar, Daikundi, Nuristan, Panjshir, Wardak, Saripul, Paktia, Uruzgan, Kunar, Ghor, Ghazni, Faryab, Bamiyan and Badghis are the provinces that There are no crime cases of smuggling and drug trafficking registered In CNJC.

He added that during the last quarter of 1396, a total of 177 cases were filed against the 218 suspects including 7 public service employees, 6 women and 2 Iranian nationals committing drug trafficking from across the country their cases are dispatched to Investigation Laboratory Department.

Based on last changes to the counter narcotics law , in accordance with Articles 16 and 17 of the Law fight against alcohol and drugs jurisdiction CNJC has the authority of interrogation or (handling) at least 1 kilograms of heroin, 10 kilograms of opium, 50 kilograms of hashish, and 200  liters of alcoholic drink , one kilogram of Morphine,  10 gram of intoxicating  synthetic substance, 5 liter Acid of Acetic Anhydride, intoxicants,  committed more than 50 acres of narcotic substance will be punished base on the law ,  are from all over the country.
