President Ghani met with the delegation of the United States Congress

Mohammed Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, CEO Abdullah Abdullah met yesterday with the US delegation under the leadership of Mrs. Nancy Pelosi. 

At this meeting which was held in Greenhouse Palace, President Ghani first welcomed Mrs. Nancy Pelosi and her accompanying delegation the commitment of the people the Congress and the United States Government towards Afghanistan.

He added that joint cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the new strategy of the United States towards Afghanistan and South Asia has created a positive aspect and today we are approaching our goals from now on.

The President of the country noted that without a democratic system, there is no other system in Afghanistan and people would like it and support it. He added that the National Unity Government is committed to holding Wolesi Jirga elections, district councils and presidential elections.

At the meeting,Dr Abdullah Abdullah the executive director of the National Unity Government, welcomed the board praised US cooperation with Afghanistan in various fields, and praised it in the direction of suppressing the common enemy and achieving goals.

In front of Mrs. Nancy Pelosi chairman of the United States Congress thanked the President for welcoming him and his delegation, saying that the three-year achievements of the Afghan government are full of hope and that with the implementation of government plans Peace and stability will be provided in Afghanistan.

Mrs. Pelosi said her country is committed to continuing to cooperate and fight against terrorism and remain a strategic alliance with Afghanistan.

Both sides discussed the peace process, the active participation of women in different sectors, economic growth, investment, the role of the private sector, exports and imports, transit, regional cooperation the implementation of large regional projects, elections and the fight against corruption And they also discussed regarding eradicate of drugs in Afghanistan.
