Seizure of large amounts of weapons, ammunition and arrest of 59 Suspects in connection with drug trafficking during the month of January 2018

Ahmad Khalid Mowahid Director of Communication and Spokesperson of CNJC Said in a press conference , that  from period of  1385 to 1395,in a Link  to drug trafficking cases totaled 921 weapons, 72 manual bombs, 502 anti-vehicle mines, 21 firecrackers, 70 antipersonnel mines, 6 cameras, 70742 firewalls, 18 telegrams, 2446 intermodal vehicles, related to drug trafficking crimes. And 3075 different telephone types have been seized and confiscated.

According Mr. Mowahid , Weapons, ammunition, vehicles and associated mobile telephones shall be in accordance with Article 19  of Counter Narcotics Law  (equipment and material  used in the preparation, production and processing of drugs and narcotics)   Confiscated by Court of Counter Narcotics and drugs are being confiscated and transformed into government bodies.

Meanwhile Mr. Mowahid emphasis during the month of January 2018 (Dalwa 1396,) in the link to   57 cases of crimes against drugs 59 suspects arrested, including 2 women and one citizen of Iran from across the country, and their cases are dispatched to Counter Narcotics Justice Center for further investigation and prosecuting.

Mr. Mowahid added among the cases reached to this center, 16 of them were from Hamed Karzai International Airport that was also featured by the activists in the separate cases of the transfer of narcotics type of heroin to India.

According Mr. Mowahid after the initial investigation of the police, 74 cases were finalized by the General Prosecution Department at the time of the above-mentioned investigation.

He added during the aforementioned period, 25 vehicles were seized, 1 motorcycle and 80 different mobile phones were obtained from smugglers, and also received (65,500) Afghani and (1,000) US dollars from smugglers, and dispatched them to the Account of Prosecution Department in Da Afghanistan Bank.

Meanwhile, during the Month of January 2018 (Dalwa 1396) the Primary Court of Counter Narcotics Sentenced 27 suspects from two years and six month up to 20 years of imprisonment.

26 suspects were sentenced to different penalties for imprisonment by the Appeal Court of Counter Narcotics.

Meanwhile, after the judicial decision of the appeals court of counter narcotics, along with the remaining cases of last month, 10 cases, the decision has been finalized by the   Supreme Court of public security bureau of Islamic republic of Afghanistan.

Ahmad Khalid Mowahid added, In connection with the cases for the month of dalwa 1396, along with 21 vehicles, 22 weapons, 2562 ammunition, 3 hand bombs and 66 telephone sets discovered and the following drugs were also discovered and seized:

(37. 306) kilograms of heroin

  (9, 1833) kilograms of opium

(85, 1182) kilograms of hashish 

(105) kilograms of solid chemicals

(41,312) liters of liquid chemicals

(501) Alcoholic Beverages

In addition to this  during the current month of ( dalwa 1396)  Kabul province having  20 cases and  Nangarhar province with 9  cases are the  highest list of provinces has been dealing with high-profile cases of smuggling and drug trafficking.   Logar Province, Daikundi, Nuristan, Panjshir, Zabul, Wardak, Saripul, Paktika, Laghman, Kunduz, Kunar, Kapisa, Helmand, Ghazni, Faryab and Bamyan, Khost are among the provinces without cases of alcohol and drugs crimes. 

 However, during the month of December 2017 ( Jadi  1396)  there were a total of 55 cases of 73 suspects, including 2 public servants, 3 women and one Iranian citizen suspected of smuggling and drug trafficking dispatched  from across the country to the Counter Narcotics Justice Center

It is noteworthy that CNJC established In Islamic Year of 1384 (May 2005) in accordance with Articles 17 and 18 of the Law fight against alcohol and drugs jurisdiction has the authority of interrogation or (handling) at least 2 kilograms of heroin, 10 kilograms of opium, 50 kilograms of hashish, 50 kilograms of chemicals, Chemical and 50 liters of alcohol or intoxicants are from all over the country.
