Kabul and Moscow agreed on a joint struggle against terrorism and drug trafficking

The Afghan National Security Council (ANSF) announced that Afghan and Russian national security advisers in Kabul agreed on a joint and lasting struggle against drugs trafficking and terrorists.

According to the council's announcement, Russian national security adviser, Nikolai Petroshev, visited Kabul on Tuesday at a delegation headed by an official Afghan counterpart.

In a meeting with Afghan National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar   and Mr. Petrushov,, the two sides, in addition to examining the threats against Afghanistan, Russia and the region, have also discussed the improvement and expansion of cooperation between the two countries. 

The national security advisers of the two countries have described drug trafficking as a major cause of instability in the region.

Meanwhile, based on   news report of presidential that Mr. Petrozhev met with Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani and spoke on strengthening the relations between Afghanistan and Russia, threatening terrorism and countering it, regional cooperation, economic and transit.

Mr. Ghani, referring to the extent of the threat of terrorism, said that in the face of a joint and serious struggle with it, a unified strategy is needed.

The president of Afghanistan said that "sharing of experience and information with Russia in the fight against terrorism, especially the fight against groups that threaten Afghanistan and the region, is worthwhile." 

Russia's national security adviser has said that we are here to peace and stabilize in Afghanistan; and we are ready to cooperate in the fight against terrorism, and also want to expand economic cooperation, which it believes is effective of providing security, in Afghanistan.

Russia's readiness for a joint warfare campaign against terrorist recently announced, while President Ghani recently accused the Russia for supporting Taliban in a speech in the Paktika province, which was followed by a sharp reaction from the Russian embassy in Kabul.
