The successes and virtues of all Muslim’s are rooted through the application of Allah (and his prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him)) instructions. It is also a duty of every Muslim to carry out these commandments properly.

One of the instructions imposed by Allah (and his prophet) is the prevention in the use of narcotic drugs and alcohol.

Allah states in the holy Quran (and through his prophet Muhammads’ (PBUH) hadith’s), all Muslim’s are to avoid the use of narcotic drugs and alcohol. It is therefore necessary to act upon Allah’s commands (and through his prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) guidance) to attain success in both this world and beyond.

The obedience of Allah (and his prophet’s wishes) is not only limited to the avoidance drugs and alcohol. It also extends to the prevention in the cultivation, production and trafficking of narcotics. Through the compliance of Allah’s wishes, it encourages all Muslim’s to prevent the trafficking, cultivation and production of narcotics and alcohol to create a safe environment and a stable society.

It is the duty of all Muslims to undertake the responsibility to eradicate narcotics and alcohol, and to encourage fellow Muslims to assist them in this huge task.

The almighty Allah, together with his prophet Muhammad (PBUH), intended all Muslim’s to avoid committing bad deeds. Allah, through his prophet Mohammad (PBUH) encouraged all Muslim’s to carry out good deeds.

In order to fulfill Allah’s and his prophet’s instructions, Muslim’s, their relatives and all members of their respective communities are to set positive examples by undertaking good deeds. Carrying out good deeds is essential for setting high standards within the community, for example, it is the duty of all Muslims to raise the awareness of the harm caused by narcotics and the devastating affect can have within their society.

The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has a responsibility to encourage the development of a positive society to ensure that all offenders are brought to justice. In addition, the government is responsible for raising the awareness of their intentions through various forms of mass-media and religious scholars.

The trafficking, production, cultivation and use of narcotics and alcohol are completely contradictive of the Islamic values and beliefs. Today, the unfortunate reality is that both narcotics and alcohol abuse is engrained within Afghanistan’s society.

The government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is required to take immediate action in the eradication of wide-spread trafficking of narcotics and alcohol if it is to create a safe, stable and sustainable future.

Through the government’s positive influence, it will create a safe and sustainable Islamic society for all of Afghanistan’s citizens to enjoy.
