In the course of year  1399  (March 2020 – March 2021) a total of 810 cases were filed on suspicion of 1153 suspected drug traffickers from across the country,  detained by the Police of Counter Narcotics and their cases are sent to the CNJC Prosecution Department for further investigation.

The CNJC Investigation and Laboratory Dept. is the first department at the CNJC to receive the cases and within 72 hour with Necessary consideration and sent all the cases to the Counter Narcotics justice center (CNJC)   and other law enforcement organizations (LEOs) from across Afghanistan.

Of the 99 detainees, including 15 women who wanted to smuggle opium, hashish and heroin into India and Dubai  using hammocks, tubes, dried fruit, cigarettes and vapors from Hamid Karzai International Airport. Were identified and arrested by police officers and prosecutors in charge of Counter Narcotics Justice Centre..

According to the proposal of the Special Prosecutor's Office and the ruling of the primary  Court 281 vehicles, 24 motorcycles, 3 bicycles, 1659 mobile phones and 99 assault rifles obtained from smugglers were confiscated and the amount (8680480) Afghani (7245) US dollar was confiscated from the smugglers by the police and sent  to a final account in Afghanistan Bank

Meanwhile, during 1399 (March 2020 – March 2021), 1632 people, including 140 public service officials and 34 women, were sentenced to one year and one month to 30 years in prison in connection with 998 cases by the Primary  Court of CNJC . The Court of Appeals of CNJC also sentenced 1111 people, including 105 public service officials, 17 women and 1 foreigner, to 809 different sentences in connection with 809 cases.

During the year of  1399 (March 2020 – March 2021)  the Primary court and Appeal court  acquitted 132 suspects including 33 public service 2 women due to lack of enough evidence

On the other hand during this time after the decision of Appeal of Counter Narcotics Justice Centre the decision of 495 cases issued by Supreme Court’s public security bureau of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

In connection with the above-mentioned cases, the Anti-Narcotics Police also discovered and confiscated quantities of intoxicants, narcotics, solid chemicals, liquids and psychedelics (K), which are as follows

Provinces with the highest number of intoxicating Drug crime cases:
During the year of 1399 (March 2020 – March 2021) Kabul province with 249 cases of drug and intoxicating and Nangarhar province, having 195 cases of drug trafficking are at the top of the list of provinces with high-level cases of smuggling and drug trafficking.

However, in the last year a total of 1048 cases of 1523 suspected drug offenders including 30 woman three foreign citizen, 29 school and university students and 102 public service arrested   from across the country and their cases are dispatched to Investigation and Laboratory Department of Counter Narcotics Justice Centre (CNJC).

Based on last  changes to the penalty code of Counter Narcotics,  accordance with Articles 16 and 17 of the Law,  fight against alcohol and drugs jurisdiction CNJC  has the authority of interrogation or (handling) at least 1 kg of heroin, 10 kg of opium, 50 kg of hashish, and 200  liter of alcoholic drink , 1 kg of Morphine, 10 gram of intoxicating  synthetic substance, 5 liter acid of acetic anhydride, intoxicants, and those who  committed more than 50 acres of narcotic substance will be punished base on the law ,  the  mentioned substances are from all over the country.
